From the Mailbag: Is the cuckold thing really all that common?

Q: I'm trying to understand just what it's about but I've always assumed it was pretty uncommon (though to be honest I don't really "get" it, there are plenty of "weird" things that I can understand are turn-ons for people but the cuckold kink just has me baffled, not just the idea of being the cuckold but also being the "bull" as they call it). Is the cuckold thing really all that common?

A: How common cuck is hard to say as many people aren't willing to admit their personal sexual activity. I can say the interest in the subject seems to have grown recently. I'm not surprised you don't understand it, as most people outside the lifestyle are confused as well. Maybe some stats will help explain things:

Cuck does seem to be becoming more popular. Now it's easier than ever for people to explore and connect with others who have similar interests.

  • There are around 6.25 million US couples that are active cuckolds
  • There are most cuckold couples in the US states: “Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and West Virginia”
  • 35% of men are either “interested” or “very interested” in trying cuck
  • 6 out of 10 men have fantasized about it whereas only 3 out of 10 women have

  • Searches on “Cuckold” on porn websites have increased by 57% in the last few years
  • 80% of the active married couples have tried it with an earlier partner
  • 20% of the active married couples have never tried it before
  • 2 out of 10 married couples get a divorce due to jealousy from cuck

  • Compared to open marriages this is low. In Open marriages, it is 92% that sooner or later end in a divorce.
  • It’s the younger ages 18-29 and 30-44 that are most active

  • 90% of the young adults (18-29) get introduced to it online and through friend
    • 5 out of 10 active cuckold couples aged 18-29 end in a breakup

    • 20% of them stay as cuckolds through life
